Background
Growing up, baking typically involved Duncan Hines brownie mix or pre-made cookie dough in a tube.Through numerous cooking shows & blogs, I've learned more about baking from scratch & how simple it can be to make something that tastes so much better than the packaged mixes. Plus, a little bourbon always makes things taste better.
I came across several recipes for blondies at Serious Eats that I decided to combine into the following yummy result.

| 1 | cup | flour |
| 1/2 | tsp | baking powder |
| 4 | TBS | bourbon |

- Butter an 8 x 8 pyrex dish
- Place butter in a saucepan on medium heat and stir as the butter melts & foams.
- Cook the butter until it is fragrant & a nutty brown color.
- Take the pan off the heat, pour butter into a large bowl, & let it cool to room temperature.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, & salt in a separate bowl. Set aside.
- Add brown sugar to melted butter. Whisk until smooth.
- Add egg & vanilla. Whisk some more.
- Add bourbon. Keep whisking until all are incorporated.

- Bake for 20-25 minutes until toothpick is clean.
- Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before cutting into it (if you can wait).
